Carpenter
Wild Tree Woodworks is a custom design/build company specializing in unique treehouses throughout the Pacific Northwest. We build creative structures in remarkable locations and are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our growing team.
Carpenters at Wild Tree Woodworks work closely with the Lead Carpenter and crew to bring projects to life. This role focuses on strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a small team building in unique environments.
Our projects typically run two to eight weeks in length, with locations, designs, and clients changing regularly. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is interested in learning the specialized techniques involved in treehouse construction.
We work four 10-hour days per week during the summer, giving our crew three-day weekends whenever possible. Some projects require travel during the week, but crews typically return home on weekends.
Responsibilities
Install tree attachment hardware, beams, joists, & decking
Frame walls and roofs; sheath walls and roofs; install siding; install metal roofing
Build stairs and railings
Fit, prep, and install window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, finish flooring, built-ins, interior and exterior trim
Erect scaffolding and ladders for work above ground-level
Maintain a clean and safe job site
Read & interpret plans, drawings, and sketches to understand project specs
Qualifications
3+ years of professional carpentry experience
Solid residential carpentry skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and follow construction drawings
Personal carpentry tools and reliable transportation
Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors
Comfortable working at height and on scaffolding
Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team
Treehouse experience is a plus, including:
Installing Treehouse Attachment Bolts (TABs)
Working from ropes or harness systems
Building in unconventional jobsite conditions
Structural work in and around living trees
Schedule & Travel
Four-day work week (four 10-hour days during the summer)
Required to travel and work on the road during the week for remote projects (home on weekends)
Compensation & Benefits
$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience
